The boys JV and varsity lacrosse teams will play at Nashoba TODAY; players should be dismissed at 1:45 p.m. The JV baseball team will play at Arlington Catholic TODAY; players should be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.

There will be a meeting of the Gay– Straight Alliance (GSA) TODAY (April 3) at 2:40 p.m. in the Reading Room – Room 138 right off of the library. Please note the room change for this week only! New members, friends and supporters are welcome anytime! We will continue our planning for the Day of Silence. If you have any questions, feel free to speak with advisors, Ms. Kline in student services or Ms. Stone, reading specialist in Room 138.

Rachel’s Challenge wants to know, “Have you seen a kind act?” Drop a note about a kindness you have seen in one of the boxes found in the cafeteria, library or nurse’s office. Watch our tree in the cafe bloom this Spring with kind acts!

The softball team will raffle two Red Sox/ Yankee tickets for a game in July. Please support the team by buying a ticket. You can see one of the softball players to purchase a ticket.

Attention Seniors! Beginning next week, the week of April 9th, PROM tickets will be on sale for $60 each. Your dues must be paid in full.

Beginning the week of April 23rd PROM tickets will be on sale to students who are NOT seniors for $65. Class dues must be paid to date. See Ms. Dawes or Mr. Newman for tickets and information.

Coins for Cures!!!! North Shore Tech and the Community Service Club are supporting the Children’s Hospital of Boston. Look for the Coins for Cures canisters located around the school and please drop in your COINS. ANY amount will help! Thank you!

Athletes who plan to ride the 5:00 p.m. Sports Bus home MUST sign up EACH DAY in the Main Office no later than 9:00 a.m. in order to ride the bus home that day.

All Drama Club members going on today’s field trip should go to first lunch.  The trip will depart at 11:30 a.m.

 

The girls basketball banquet has been postponed and will be on Tuesday, March 27th and it will be in Assembly Hall at Essex Aggie rather than the cafeteria.  Contact Coach Grace for more information.

 

Attentions Juniors:  There will be a class gathering and Prom Committee meeting after school on Thursday,

March 29th, in Cosmetology. We will be finalizing the list of potential venues for the prom and discussing our ideas for themes. Also, we will be discussing elections for next year’s class officers. If you are interested in running for a class officer for senior year, come to this meeting!

Seniors!  The North Shore Tech award application is available now.  Please pick up the application in Guidance today. The deadline is March 30th. This application is open to all seniors! See Ms. Doherty or Ms. Montague if you have any questions.

TODAY (March 8th) is the last of two Freshman Career Exploration Days.  All Freshmen should report to the shop you are exploring today and at the appropriate time your shop teacher will accompany you to the library.

Freshman Parents Night is TONIGHT (March 8th) at 6:30 p.m.  Please tell your parents!  They will not want to miss this important meeting about selecting your final vocational-technical program.

Freshmen!  There are still a few Freshmen who have not completed the online binder survey designed by your classmates.  Please log in to your school email and complete the survey by the end of the day on Friday if you want your opinion to count!

There will be a short but important meeting for all Peer Mediators tomorrow morning (Friday, March 9) at 7:45 a.m. in the Career Center.  Also, any Peer Mediator who wishes to attend the ADL “World of Difference” conference, who has not yet turned in their signed permission slip must submit it to Ms. Kline by Friday a.m.  There are only a few slots left –  first come, first served!

The North Shore Tech Drama Club proudly presents “Removing the Glove” by Clarence Coo.  The Club will perform at Gloucester High School this Thursday (March 1st) at 7:00 p.m.; tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.  The club will also perform in the Mass Educational Theatre Guild’s High School Drama Festival on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m.  at Manchester-Essex Regional High School.  Tickets are $10 for all performances that day.

Calling all artists!!!  The Recycled Art Show is coming up and artwork is being solicited for the show.  You do NOT need to be a Design & Visual or Graphics student to participate.  Anyone can submit recycled artwork.  If you think you might be interested, see Ms. Williams or Ms. Bond in Design & Visual, Room 140 for more information!  Anyone can be a recycle artist!

There will be a study session after school TODAY (February 27th) and tomorrow (February 28th) in Computer Lab Room 137 for students who will be competing in SkillsUSA District competition.

Students are reminded that they should have their school ID with them each day and MUST use their own school ID to obtain food in the cafeteria.  If you need a temporary ID, please see Ms. Kelly or Ms. Kindler during your lunch period.  If you have lost your ID, please purchase one from Ms. Kindler.  Temporary IDs will ONLY be given during your lunch period.  Temporary IDs will not be given before school or during shop break time.  Detentions will not be issued for forgotten IDs; however, habitual offenders may be subject to consequences as per the Student Handbook.
